Calls for Mutual Respect and Rejection of Violence
The International Committee for the Support of the Final Prophet (ICSFP) is pleased with the eloquent explanation of the Catholic Church’s views on Islam and the Pope’s offer to engage in dialogue.
“After further review of the Pope’s original speech in Germany and his subsequent statements, it is clear that he des not share the offensive opinion of Islam with Emperor Manuel II,” stated ICSFP Chairman, Ali Jomaa. “We welcome his call for expanded dialogue and will seek an opportunity to engage in such efforts in the future,” added Jomaa.
ICSFP is committed to treating the Catholic Church with mutual respect. Indeed the Qur’an instructs Muslims to resolve such conflicts through proper dialogue: “And dispute ye not with the People of the Book except with means better . . . ” (The Spider, Chapter 29, Verse 46).
