MAINE -- Maine's Roman Catholic bishop, Richard Malone, is speaking out against inflammatory graffiti that was painted on the Muslim Community Center, Portland's largest mosque, after the killing of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

The slogans included "Osama today, Islam tomorrow" and "Go Home."

Malone said now is a time to promote peace, not allow bin Laden's death to spawn hate. He said bin Laden "sowed division and hatred."
